THE POSITION
Interport Secure Parking has an immediate need for a dependable, team-oriented individual to join us as a Yard Coordinator. The Yard Coordinator is responsible for securing and organizing Secure Parking’s container storage yard throughout his/her work shift utilizing a company-owned yard hustler, pickup truck, and other machinery. In addition, the Yard Coordinator may be required to perform other duties from time to time including snow removal, sweeping, pothole repair, painting, and weed cutting.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keep the yard neat, organized, and safe at all times
- Ensure all drivers, vendors, and yard visitors obey Secure Parking’s rules and regulations
- Assist and direct drivers picking up and dropping off equipment
- Lift and relocate improperly parked equipment
- Process security gate transactions
- Perform security checks and inventory counts
- Complete special projects as required including yard maintenance
- Remain cross-trained in various areas of Secure Parking’s operation
- Assist with implementing Emergency Procedure processes per Assistant Operations Manager’s instructions
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving history
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work overtime, including off-hours “call-ins” and some holidays
Employment is subject to the completion of due-diligence inquiries, including a background check and a pre-employment medical examination incorporating a drug and alcohol screen, which will take place after a conditional offer is made.
PREFERRED/PLUS
- Ability to perform basic computer tasks
- Prior experience driving a forklift and yard hustler
