(Interport) announced that it has received approval from the ICC Evaluation Service, LLC (ICC-ES) to supply upon request ISO shipping containers which comply with the provisions of the 2021 and 2018 International Building Code® and International Residential Code®. “This great team accomplishment further diversifies and expands Interport’s container sales and modification capabilities,” said Steve Bernstein, Owner/CEO.
In business since 1969, Interport is a shipping container company based in Newark, NJ, located on 50 acres adjacent to the Port of New York and New Jersey. Offering a large selection of new and used containers for sale, Interport manufactures custom-built containers in a dedicated, purpose-built modification facility. The ICC-ES report positions Interport to provide structurally sound steel shipping containers as permittable materials for use in both commercial and residential building projects.
“With the market’s increasing demand for shipping containers in building structures, AC462 certification was a natural next step for Interport,” said Doug Kochman, CFO/COO.”
Interport’s move to secure AC462 certification aligns with the company’s commitments to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. ICC-ES approval places Interport among the select few in its industry authorized to supply certified containers upon request, giving Interport’s current and prospective customers direct access to certified steel containers for a variety of building applications.
